Our pathway programs are designed give you access to undergraduate courses by equipping you with the skills and knowledge you need to succeed. To help you make the transition, we offer a range of courses, as well as short foundation programs.

Our pathway programs recognise and build upon your strengths and experience and do not need a formal qualification for entry.

University Preparation Program (UPP)

Open to everyone, this course provides an alternative entry pathway into university. Best of all, it's free. This is a general academic skills-based course.  We’ll help you adjust to life as a university student so that you feel comfortable with both on-campus and online learning.

This is course is perfect if you didn't receive an ATAR or didn't attend college.  By successfully completing this course, you'll meet the General Entry Requirements for further study.

Diploma of University Studies

This course is for you if there's a degree you would love to do, but need some help preparing, didn't receive the ATAR you had hoped, or you haven't studied for a while.

Choose from pathways that match the degree you’re thinking of studying. These include Arts, Business, Education, Engineering, Health Science, Nursing Foundation Studies, Paramedicine, Psychology, Social Work, and Science. You'll be studying first-year units in your pathway - that you can use as credit in your degree.

Murina Program

Riawunna's Murina Program is a pathway designed for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. It allows you to gain the skills and confidence to commence undergraduate studies or other vocational goals. We offer units in history and politics, storytelling and academic study skills, all through a Tasmanian Aboriginal lens.

Our Riawunna team provides a range of programs with all the support you need to succeed. The Murina Program is offered on the Sandy Bay, Newnham and Cradle Coast campuses via online, face-to-face classes and On Country experiences.

We deliver a range of bridging programs to enable international students to pathway from their home country into an undergraduate degree.

The Foundation Studies programs enable direct entry to an undergraduate degree. First Year Diplomas enable direct entry into the second year of an undergraduate degree. We also offer a Pre-Masters program that enables entry into a postgraduate degree at the Tasmanian School of Business & Economics.
